Kimi Takesue 

Kimi Takesue was the easiest event to snapshot yet. Every frame of her films is a study in simplicity and form. They make beautiful still images. My favorite parts included the Vietnamese children oogling the camera in Heaven's Crossroad and the closeups in Summer of the Serpent. The simple enigmatic plot of Takesue's Serpent also kept me enthralled thw whole time. Yes, narrative can still be used effectively without bombarding the viewer with too much story.

Sorry for the big line gap between this copy and the table of thumbnail images below. The folks at Blogger could really stand to improve their style sheets and give us more layout control. Maybe next year, the TBA blog can try a new platform.
