A Bathroom Conversation About Diamanda Galas

Shortly after Defixiones, I found myself in the ladies’ room. Loud, faceless voices carried on from behind the stalls. We all listened. ‘I thought it was trite and contrived’ the left stall closest to the wall said. ‘It was just wonderful’, the right stall replied, ‘Someone tell her it was wonderful!’ My friend Allison heeded the call, “It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen.’ ‘See. . . ’, said the right stall, ‘It was wonderful.’ I'm told that in the men's room two older men stood at the urinal speaking in Greek.
